2009 PRO N/A Class
GENERAL OVERVIEW
• The PRO N/A
Shoot-out class is designed for naturally aspirated cars and
trucks racing in a heads up format with an all run field
• All make and models are allowed as well as small block and big
block power plants. Tube chassis and Backhalves accepted
• Vehicles must pass NHRA/IHRA safety inspection for ET and speed
• PRO N/A is on a .400 Pro tree. A Pro ladder will determine
running order. Points will be awarded at end of event to be
compiled for end of year points fund. Records will be awarded to
holder at end of each event
ENGINES
• Aftermarket
blocks allowed.
• Cubic inch's will be verified by P&G method.
• Sheetmetal and 2 carbs allowed with no weight adder.
• Gasoline is the only fuel allowed.
• Cylinder heads limited to 2 valve per cylinder only
• Dry Sump oiling systems permitted.
BALLAST
• Must be
NHRA/IHRA approved mounting and be maximum 100# per individual
weight bar and be bolted or welded securely in car.
• Two ½" bolts per 100#'s.
• No loose or unsecured ballast allowed
CARBURETORS/INDUCTION
• Any
carburetor(s) allowed.
• Cast or sheetmetal allowed.
• EFI allowed
TRANSMISSION
• Any
automatic or stick allowed with weight added to sticks. Clutchless
units allowed, but will carry weight adder.
• Any converter permitted.
SUSPENSION
• Any
permitted
INTERIOR
• Not an issue
in PRO N/A
HOOD AND
SCOOP
• No limit on
forward facing scoops
• Cowl induction hoods can be any size
• No limit on fiberglass components
ELECTRICAL
• Two step,
trans brakes and line locks are permitted
• Data loggers are permitted
• Delay boxes are prohibitted
• Air Shifters allowed
TIRES
• No tire size
limit. Beadlocks are permitted
WEIGHTS
•
Engine/weight sizes up to 350/2050, 400/2200, 450/2350, 500/2500,
550/2650, 600/2800, 650/2950, 700/3100
• Weight scale will be 3 lb. increments in between plateaus
• Clutchless Stick add 150 lbs. BOPA subtract 175 lbs.
Conventional heads subtract 100 lbs. Single carb subtract 50 lbs.
P/G Trans subtract 50 lbs. Less than 600 cubes with 4.9, 5.0 bore
space add 100 lbs
• Subtract 50 lbs for OEM Styled 1981 and older subframe cars, 75
lbs full frame. (Skinny kid, McCamis style front ends does not
meet OEM stylings)
STARTING
LINE CONDUCT
• Courtesy
Staging will be in effect at all races. This means that no car can
enter the second staging light until both cars have entered the
first pre-stage light
• All cars must stage under their own power, cars will now be
allowed to be towed off the top end of the track and across the
scales. Bye-runs not required to run to advance
SPECIAL
NOTES
• No N02
equipment will be allowed on the car, all plates, plumbing,
solenoids, lines, nozzles, bottles, etc. must be removed from the
vehicle. Only exception to the rule will be for first time racers,
they will receive a one race waiver to compete, but the system
will be thoroughly inspected and sealed to show its disconnected
